SLEETH IS STAKE WINNER FEATURE RACE AT CHURCHILL DOWNS IS MARKED BY UNEXPECTED RESULT Benanet Runs Second and Edda the Favorite Is Third Helen Barbee Scores Over Good Oppo ¬ sition in Overnight stretch drive with Bonanet the lightweight of the race Edila the favorite took third place Sleeth was the least considered in a betting way of any of the starters his last effort when beaten by Dick crack Vandergrift had a narrow escape from defeat in the fifth race In which he had to be driven out to the last ounce to withstand the challenge of the fast finishing Magnet Vandergrift started out as if he would cnnter in front all the way but in the stretch he began to lag and it took Peaks best effort to keep him frontJ going long enough to finish a heart in front J N Camdens Christophine graduated from the maiden class in the second race in which twelve fillies engaged Thomas C McDowells Watermelon taking second place The opening dash was strictly a duel between Florence Roberts and
