FINE CARD EOE WOOHBINE CANADIAN RACING SEASON TO OPEN AT ON TARIO JOCKEY CLUBS TRACK TODAY Four Stakes Included in SevenRaco Program That Will Be Decided More Horses on Hand Than Can Be Accommodated at Course Toronto Out May 23 The racing season of 1Ji on the Canadian circuit will begin tomorrow with the opening of the Ontario Jockey Clubs spring meeting at Woodbine A program pronounced by many as the best ever offered by the club will be run olf It is made up of seVcu races four of which are slakes as follows The Minto Selling Stakes 1000 added one mile and a sixteenth tlie Woodstock Plate 2HH added one mile and an eighth tlie Kings Plate 5000 added one mile and a quarter and the Aintree Steeplechase Handicap 1 W0 added over tlie twomile course There are three uther events one being Hie Juvenile Purse for twoyearolds to which Is added 700 and two 1800 purses one an allowance affair and tlie other a selling race raceInterest Interest will naturally center in tho running of tlie Kings Plate and a goodly band of Canadian breds is carded to go to the post in this race The Seagram Giddings anil ISrookdale Stable are repre ¬ sented by more than one entry Outside of Hearts of Oak they are a wellbalanced lot but the Gid ¬ dings colt has worked so well that it looks a case of all over Wit the shouting Still this race has frequently provided a surprise and a better contest than is looked for may result Hearts of Oak will run coupled with Ondramida and will be ridden by J Wilson a lad that ranks just now as the lead ¬ ing jockey in America GoldHud has worked well as has also Mahl of Frome one of the Sengraiu entry Butwell will have the mount on the hitler There is great local interest in tho meeting anil with pleasant conditions prevailing a recordbreak ¬ ing crowd is looked for tomorrow tomorrowContrary Contrary to expectations there are more horses here this spring than last season Kvery stall within the enclosure is occupied and two stables that came on from Kentucky those of W 10 Scott and C N Freeman were forced to continue on to Montreal because of the lack of stable room The shipments from Ixixington ami Pinilico consisted of about 00 horses horsesLahore Lahore is here to start in the Toronto Cup which will be run on the closing day Saturday May 3J JitJnyuwers also brought Francis J Pons Joltu Furlong here from Itclmont Park to start in
