SIXTY HORSES AT BLUE BONNETS Montreal Que May 23 Three Montrealowned horses which have been titled for racing jit Blue Bonnets were shipi cd to Toronto today to nil their stake engagements at the spring meeting of the Ontario Jockey Club The three are Wickson a steeplechaser owned by Lionel A Ekers Magpie owned by J Grcer Chapman and Jill Jitsu Mag ¬ pie was purchased last fall from Mrs L A Liv ¬ ingston bv her present owner and has developed into a goodlooking fouryearold She is named for the Connaiight Cup au event for Canadianowned horses to be run at Ilue Bonnets Wickson has taken on considerable weight during the winter and in his schooling over the local course this spring shows tlie benefit of his racing last autumn Jiu Jitsu which was troubled last season with a bad leg seems to have gotten over tlie ailment and never looked l etter than at the present time He has been schooled and worked on the Hat in preparation for ills seasons racing These horses are being trained by Alan Bnlcroft one of the most successful local trainers trainersKvervthing Kvervthing Is in readiness for the meeting of tho Montreal Jockey Club which is to open on Tuesday June 3 and continue up to and including Tuesday June 10 There will be seven races every day in ¬ cluding a steeplechase event and on six of the seven days an overnight handicap There are now about sixty horses stabled at tha course some of which were shipped here from Pinilico Word was received that several more carloads would arrive in Montreal this week weekTlie Tlie work of rebuilding and dressing tlie jumps has loen commenced so they will be ready by tji end of next week The stables have all been over ¬ hauled and are now ready for the reception of such horses as may be shipped here The horses of Thomas Clyde will likely lx the lirst to come from Baltimore and they will be followed by several other strings that were not sent to Toronto
