GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION Lexington Ky August 9 Walter Payne sold this afternoon to J I Clayton two yearling thor ¬ oughbred fillies by Marta Santa one being out of Siss Lee aud the other out of Maude Fealy dam of Auto Run RunJohn John Miller will leave here Monday for Saratoga with sixteen yearling thoroughbreds which are to be broken and trained Eight are the property o F R Hitchcock three are owned by David Gideon three KnappThomas by H T Wilson and two by II K Knapp Thomas Platt reported today that the suckling filly by Marathon Lunette the property of Frank Hespess was killed by lightning a few days ago William agoWilliam II Shelley will come here next week to take up his duties as racing secretary for the Ken ¬ tucky Associations fall meeting which is to open September 11 and continue for iiluo days
