ONTARIO JOCKEY CLUBS RICH STAKES Canadas premier racing organization tin Ontario Jockey Club of Toronto offers a list of stake races for Its autumn meeting to close for entries at mid ¬ night of Monday August 11 They arc eight in number of which three are limited to Canadian bred horses or Canadianowned horses they being the Dominion Handicap Durham Cup and Seagram Cup The others are open to all and tire I Toronto Autumn Cup at a mile and a quarter with 2500 added Ontario Jockey Club Cup at two miles and a quarter with 2500 added both being for three yearolds and over Michaelmas Handicap for two yearolds at threequarters of a mile with 1500 added Grey Stakes for twoyearolds at a mllo with 1500 added and the Hendrie Steeplechase at two miles and a half with 2000 added These arc all attractive values and are supplemented by overnight handicaps ranging in value from 700 up to the 1000 Rothschild Cup The ordinary purses will be of 500 and GO Altogether the monetary program Is in accord with the clubs well established reputation for liberality in its dealings with horse ¬ men and these events should attract nominations of the best borfcs of the day There Is not much time left in which to mako entries and they should be mailed promptly to Secretary W P Fraser Toronto Ont Full conditions of the races appear elsewhere in this Issue of Daily Racing Form
