; RACING OF AMERICAN HORSES IN ENGLAND . : . In the course of English racing through the month of September American-bred horses did not especially distinguish themselves, although they won fifteen races and were second and third in many more. The principal item of. success was Borrows victory over fast horses in the Ayr Gold Cup. Most of the races won were what would be called purse races in this country, but are generally denominated "plates" in England. K. Arbuthnots Tinklebell won twice and is quite a useful three-year-old, having won three races out of five starts up to the end of September. Oscar Lewisohn owns a useful two-year-old in Green Carnation, which defeated twenty opponents In the Stewards Nursery Handicap at Hurst Park, September 21.
