JOHN GUND began fast and, running well in the going, led by .i big margin for the entire wav and was under restraint at the end. DECATHLON, aftetr closing a gap. gained steadily in the stretch and finished fast. SQUIRE BILL began slowly, but made up ground steadily and outstayed JUST Y. for third plac in the closing strides. JUST Y. ran In closest pursuit to the stretch and tired in the last sixteenth. LINDAR fell out of forward contention iu the stretch. nOLTON trailed nearly all the way. CRISCO began slowly and was taken wide into the stretch, but finished fast and resolutely. OAKLAND tired badlv after following BAC closely for the first five-eighths. GENERAL ran well. AMON ran well, but suffered from interference soon atter the start and had to go wide while on tho backstretch. then tired in the stretch. GOLD COLOR tired after going a half mile, but came again near the end and finished gamely. FOXY MARY tired fast in the last eighth. BELLE OF BRYN MAWR ran away a half mile before the start.
