SILENT PILOT SUFFERS DISQUALIFICATION. Mrs. L. A. Livingstons Horse Is Set Back After Finishing First at Pimlico. Baltimore, Md., November C Silent Pilot finished first in the feature at Pimlico this afternoon, a mile race, tut because the stewards considered that Mrs. Livingstons horse interfered with Martian, which finished second, Silent Pilot was disqualified. Silent Pilot ran a good race and it was not apparent to those in the stand that he has impeded Martian to an extent that warranted disqualification. There was some crowding on the backstretch, but Silent Pilot did not appear to be the offender. Again in the last furlong Silent Pilot, running on the outside, was close to Martian. Humiliation was the j.aoemaker to the stretch turn, where Silent Pilot, which had been gradually working his way up, went to the front and held the others safe to the finish. Only six races were carded this afternoon. With seven races to run, it is generally dark when the final race Is decided. Jumping races are decidedly jiopular here. In todays steeplechase there were eleven starters. G. It. Tompkins Turbine was returned the winner after making the uace for the entire journey. It is doubtful, however, if Turbine would have won had not Bclluf made a bad lauding at the next to the last fence, which almost unseated his rider. Tuckey. The boy scrambled back into the saddle and rode a vigorous finish, but the mishap cost his mount whatever chance he had to win. Bella f was a good third.. II. P. Whitneys Piping Rock Subscription Race winner. Some Kid, graduated from the maiden class in the opening race. Under the conditions of the Piping Bock Subscription .Races the winner of those events are not disqualified from starting in a maiden race. Some Kid ran as if lie is a fairly feood one. The six-fnrlongs race resulted in the fastest time of the meeting, due to the swift pace set by W. L. Olivers Kewessa. This- horse ran the first three furlongs in 34 and the effort told, for Working Lad, which had been reserved, came along to beat him at the finish. Hugh Penny will go to New York Saturday night to confer with Jefferson Livingston regarding a contract on jockey Johnny McTaggart for next season. Jockey James Butwcll has signed a contract to ride for William Garth again next season. Kewessa, the McGee three-year-old that forced Working l.ad to run six furlongs in 1:12 to win the second nice, is a 100 cast off from the stable of Dr. J. S. Tyree. W. L." Oliver took over "tlfe gelding and, while he is still a maiden, he is probably the fastest maiden in training just now. Kewessa made all the pace. He went the first quarter in 22, three furlongs in 34, half mile in 4! a:id live furlongs in 39. It was one of the fastest races ever run over the Pimlico track.
