SOME KID raced MAXIMS CHOICE into defeat in the liist quarter, then took a good lead and easily held the raee safe for the remainder of the way. BALFRON began slowly, but finished fast and gamely. THORNHILL began In a tangle and did not seem to get into his stride until arter going the first quarter, then came with a rush through the stretch, but too late. MASTER JOE closed up much ground In the last quarter. CAPT. BEN ran well, but tired in the stretch drive. .MAXIMS CHOICE set the pace briefly and quit. INDIAN ARROW showed early speed. WORKING LAD squeezed through next to the rail, on the far turn and, taking the lead In tho last eighth, drew out and won iu a canter. KEWESSA showed great speed in pacemaking for the first half mile, then, tired. YELLOW EYES saved ground next to the rail on the stretch turn and, in a fast finish, wou.d have been second in a few more strides. GOLD CAP made, up much ground from a slow beginning. DEDUCTION showed early speed and tired badly in the last quarter. PERTHSHIRE probably was short and ran a race worth remembering. PRINCE AHMED was alwavs badlv outpaced. SWARENGER outran the others from the start and, after being apparently beaten in the last eighth, drew out again after a sharp drive. AWARE was carried out by BRUSH while rounding, the, , first turn and lest considerable ground, then moved "up fast on the backstretch. but tired after getting to the leader. HANS CREEK ran to his best form throughout. BILLY VANDERVEER could not keep up in the early running, but closed a gap in the last quarter. BRUSH dropped back on the first turn, then elated up ground. RELLUF moved up with a rush when going to the twelfth jump and, almost losing his rider, could not have lost the race but for the mishap. ASTUTE did not show much early speed and was never dangerous. OROWOC was going well until she lost her rider at the sixth jump. RAGUSA hit a flag post right after the start and, going out of the course, was eased "P.
