CANTO sprendeagled the others in the early running and was eased up through the last eighth. UNDERCOVER began llatfooted and was badly outrun early, but closed a gap steadily and finished with a rush. FLATBUSH ran well and finished gamely. JEZAIL closed a big gap. Tlie latter besan slowly and was badly outrun for the first quarter, but finished with a good burst of speed. AIMS EXPRESS seemed unable to improve his position at any stage. PBOGBESSIVE ran well. MATER ran Into the lead quickly, shook off HUMILIATION on the turn out of the baekstretch. then drew away into an easv lead and won in a canter. WARLOCK ran a good race and easily disposed of HUMILIATION for second place. The latter dashed to the front and led for the first eighth, but tired after being passed bv the winner. REPENTANT, while jumping well, was outrun for the first turn of the field, but closed a big gap in the last uiic and, finishing with a rush, won going away. PROMOTER ran in close pursuit of the leaders all the way, but tired in the last sixteenth. SAND HOG made the running, but hit several jumps and went to his knees at the last jump, then finished with his bridle off. OROWOC closed a big gap and was catching the leaders with every stride. GOLDEN VALE and RHOMB lost their riders at the ninth jump. RAGUSA bolted out of the course at the sixth jump. Scratched 110S93Frijolce. 135. STELCLIFF ran well, but tired after disusing of MASTER JIM when entering the homestretch. FAIRY GODMOTHER worked her way up on the outside and ran further than anything else- in the race. L. M. ECKERT finished fast and close up. HANS CREEK closed a big gap. O. U. BUSTER and MASTER JIM alternated in pacemaking to the stretch, where both tired. Scratched 12420.T. H.
