: PANDORINA CHIEF CONTRIBUTOR TO MRS. LIVINGSTONS TOTAL . ; . . ; - To Mrs. L. A. Livingston fell this year the rare good fortune of carrying off for the second year in succession, the spoils and honors of the Kentucky Endurance Stakes. Pandorina, her winner of this year, was not by natural endowment the best horse in the race, but on its day of running was inlinitely best in point of preparation fof such a trying ordeal as a race at four miles is. Mrs. Livingstons trainer, "Polly" IVakes, was a capital jockey in the days when long-distance racing was common and grew into manhood with a full knowledge of the now nearly lost art of training a horse to perfection for such racing. To this circumstance she owes her successive triumphs with Sotemia and Pandorina, the latter quite inferior to the former. In Kingly Mrs. Livingston possessed probably quite a good three-year-old, but he did not race much. Possibly he may himself be destined, to be a dangerous contender for the Kentucky Endurance.
