NOTES OF THE TURF. Jockey A. Ferguson has signed a contract to ride during the rest of the Charleston meeting for the Tennessee Stable. Jockey R. Small, who was refused a riding license bv the stewards of the Jockey Club Juarez, will continue to train the horses of J. W. Fuller. A. O. MeCatTerty has returned to St. Louis from Juarez to spend the holidays. He will go back to the Mexican track early In January. Mrs. If. D. Poyneer has purchased from Henry McDaniel the yearling bay gelding by Mazagan Nlklta and the yearling bay lilly by Russell Itinerant. It is announced that liecause of failing health. "Dor" Tanner lias relinquished the management of C. K. G. Billings horses and will be succeeded by H. A. Tipton. Jockey Montour, whose mounts at present are restricted to his contract employer, J. B. Respess, will make an effort to have the ban against him lifted at Charleston.
