NOTES OF THE TURF. Jockey W. Mclntyre has signed a contract to ride Tor J. I. Clayton at Juarez. Lady Capricious, which recently set a new track record at Juarez for three-eighths of a mile, was bred by W. S. Payne, of Lexington. Ky. Trainer J. 1. Clayton, who now has her in charge, bought her privately from Mr. Payne early in the spring of 1913. .Milton B.. whioh broke down in the Latonia Cup race last November, is once more in training at Charleston, and J. W. Johnson, his owner, expects that this useful son of Claude and Ville Mario will be ready " for racing at the opening of the Kentucky season. Governor Mann has sent a drastic message to the Virginia Legislature aimed at horse racing, reliect-ing on trial magistrates whose decisions permitted racing at Jamestown, and asks authority to order out the state troops when the anti-gambling law is violated. The Butte Chamber of Commerce has inaugurated a movement for the limitation of race meetings in Silver Bow County. Mont., to 15 days each year, and the abolition of poolselling and bookmaking by adopting a report of the executive board. The chamber would have a state commission appointed to supervise and control all racing. J. S. McCullough, Illinois turfman and breeder, lias named the two-year-old bay Ally, by Ben Brush Debacle, by Bend Or, Ghetto Girl. This filly is a half-sister to the noted race horse, Hanbridge, and the unbeaten Judge Wright, and she is now quartered at Douglas Park, Louisville, where James Gritlin, trainer of the McCullough string, is wintering his stable. It is lvabel that L. Martine is rotiring to the stud, after having refused an offer of ,000 for her. Ivabel has been a useful plater and her racing record is as follows: Year. Age. Sts. 1st. 2d. 3d.
