C0NNAUGHT PARK RACING PLANS. Ottawa, Ont., Januarv 19. General Manager Albert Bohrback of the Connaught Park Jockey Club is planning to visit Charleston, Norfolk, Lexington, Cincinnati. Juarez ami other racing centers next month with the idea of circulating among the horsemen and interesting them in the stakes to be run during the Connaught Park spring meeting, June 10 to 23. , Manager Kohrhack has decided to make steeple-chasing a feature of the Connaught Park meetings. The program for the spring meeting of 1J14 will include one steeplechase race on each of the seven days of the meeting. Purses for this branch of the sport, in which there is great Interest among the people of this vicinity, will range from 1914.sh00 upwards. The infield at Connauslit Park was sodded last fall and should be in splendid condition for racing over. The entire plant will present as attractive an appearance as any race course in Canada. Its cost to date is a trifle over 00,000. The stake book for the spring meeting will be in the hands of the printer within a few days. In addition to the events of last year, the Merchants Stakes, ,500 added, for three-year-olds, will be a strong feature. It is intended to attract the crack racers of that age that will eugage in the 0,000 International Derby at Dorval Park and will be run Saturday, June 20.
