ANOTHER PURSE FOR BONNE CHANCE. Horse That Recently Reduced American Mile Record Wins Handicap at Juarez. El Paso, Tex., January 21. Jefferson Livingstons Bonne Chance, which recently distinguished himself by making a new American record for one mile, won the Escalon Handicap, which served as a feature at Juarez today. Bonne Chance was the favorite and justitied the support given him by running a good race. He and New Haven set the paee on the back-stretch at a fast clip. Jockey Guy, the rider of New Haven, forced his mount along and. gaining an advantage in going to the- turn, compelled Ford on Bonne Chance to take his mount up so sharply that he lost several lengths. Ford then sent him after the flying leader, overhauled him in the stretch, and won going away. Cantcm outgamed New Haven in the last stride for second money. Pay Streak, shouldering the top weight, broke sideways and the others had gone quite a distance before he got clearly into his stride. He made si game effort on the lower turn, but fell back badly in the tiual drive. Favorites accounted for half the card. Beda, quoted at 10O to 1 for the fifth race, finished a game second to the tiring Seneca, the first choice. Beda received considerable support for place and show liy those who thought her odds out of line. Jockey It. listen is riding as a free lance and is not under engagement to Uoy G. Martin. The stewards have given M. Shields the privilege of selling his horses, J. B. Kobinson and Curlicue, and if a bona tide sale is made, they will be restored to good standing. 1.
