BERTHA V. was a forward contender all the way and made a fast finish. KICK was shuttled back and closed a gap into a close up third. VA-VA tired after setting the pace to the las- eighth. OTHELLO showed great speed in paceinaking, but tired and probably was a trille short. BIG LUMAX ran a good half mile. The others were badly outpaced. COLONEL MA RCHMONT raced well under punishment, but could not get up and came a trille wide through the final quarter. TRULY was outpaced to the stretch and finished with a whirlwind rush. TRANSPARENT tired after making the pace to the last eighth. A high wlud blew all afternoon and affected the time made. Overweights Acumen, 1 pound.
