I i ; j j j , , : f THIRTY LEADING MONEY-WINNING THREE -YEAR -OLDS OF 1913 L.. Of the thirteen horses which won 10,000 or more in American racing of 101", seven were three-year-olds and six of the seven were excellent race horses. The exception was the filly Pandorina, which at her l.st was but a plodder that was lucky in winning a rich stake race because best trained for long-distance lacing. Resides tho six named. Ten Point, Gowell, Hearts of Oak, Ruskin, Cock o the Walk and Rock-View were some others that did not win so much money, but raced so well as to deserve inclusion in the select list of the best of their age. Such were Horron, Flying Fairy, Montresor, Great Britain. Leochares and, perhaps, l.Vmerail. Flabbergast, Kleburne and Monoeacy. Some others, for instance. Pan Zarcta, Thesera Gill and Tarts, showed great speed at sprinting distances, but would hardly shine in racing at over a mile. In the list of thirty best money-winning three-year-olds there is so much real merit included that, unless there is ah extraordinary series of accidents, our four-year-olds of this year must prove vastly superior to those of 1918.
