AFFECTS HAVRE DE GRACE ONLY. Annapolis. Md., January 20. Senator Williams vesterdav offered a bill repealing the law under which racing is conducted at Havre de Grace In Harford County. Harford is represented in the Senate by James J. Archer. He declined to make any comment on Mr. Williams action. President Price referred the proKisod law to the Committee on Judicial Procedure, of which Senator Benson is chair- lnl"t simply repeals the race track law." said Mr. Williams. "I am opposed to it. The governor has said that he was deceived when he approved the incisure On the House side Noble L. Mitchell, one of Harfords three representatives, said: "I was waited on last wwk hy a delegation that informed me that It had in course of preparation a bill to repeal the race track law. I was waltlug "to hear from it. When the bill Is prepared I expect to introduce it and support it." Before and since the election gossip has been busy with the probable attack on racing in Harford. In the county itself racing has Its staunch supporters and its violent opponents, the Whole question being involved to some extent in factional political rows from the fact that M. II. Fahey. Havre de Grace political leader, is interested in the racing venture and John J. Mahon, Baltimore politician, was also an interested party. Mahon, however. Is said to have withdrawn by disposing of his interests during the last few months.
