THE WHITNEY H.0RSES NOW IN ENGLAND. Harry Payne Whitney still maintains his stabl in English racing, but it Is smaller niiiuerically than in any year since he embarked on the English turf. Many young horses sent over from this country were found wanting and were got rid of in selling races and at auction, while such as Iron .Mask. Bashtl, Nightstick, Prince Eugene. Borrow, Whisk Broom II., .Meeting House. Cabaret and others were brought hack to the land of their nativity. It results that trainer Joyner now has but seventeen horses In Ids care at Balaton House belonging to Mr. Whitney, nine of which are unnamed two-year-olds by Hamburg, Broomstick, Burgomaster and Fowling-piece, the latter being Engllsh-hred. Mi. Whitney has a considerable baud of broodmares in England which were bred to fashionable English stallions last year and it is probable that he will depend mainly on their produ.ee In his future racing in England, reserving his Brookdale-bred horses for racing in this country. His present stnble list in England Is as follows: Harnionicon, ch. c, 4, by Disguise Hnrpslchord. Brush By, ch. g, 4, by Broomstick Blue Girl. Bellefontaine, b. f, 4, by Watercress Hamburg" Belle.
