HORSES SIX YEARS OLD AND LESS THAT HAD WON 0,000 OR MORE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PRESENT YEAR •p + Horses six years old and under that have won 0,000 or more in the course of their careers and that were included in the list of thoroughbreds that raced in 1913 number seventy-nine. At the head of the list is that fast mare, Round the World, which raced in sensational fashion in the colors of W. E. Applegaie aad W. G. Yauke and which has now been retired to the stud as ihe property of the last-named turfman. Kl.md the World wou the handsome sum of 0,676 during her four seasons iu training. The only other in Ihe list that has won upwards of 5,000 is R. F. Carmans 1911 Kentucky Derby winner. Meridian. which is still iu training aud likely to materially increase his winnings before his owner retires him aatasa-iieiitly. Rocky OBrien is one that closely approached the 5,000 mark. The winning of the Hopeful Stakes as a two-year-old in the colors of James ilacManus accounts for most of the amount to his credit. As he grew older he became such a rogue that Mr. Macilanus linally gave him away aud he is now ihe property of James P. Boat, superintendent of the Lexington track. The complete racing records of these and other horses six years old and less thai had won 0,010 or more tip to the beginning of the present year are .shown in the tabulation thai follow-: Age in -Summary of Racing Record-% Borne.
