Corn Broom showed a sterling performance in making all of his own pace and beating Bockspriag a couple of lengths. The open mile Handicap overshadowed in point of interest the stake. There ware tea starters in this race, aaanag them Harry layne Whitneys Cabaret. Watts was given the mount on Cabaret today ami instructions were given him to rate the none along in front. The boy was probably over aoxloas, for he sent Cabaret right along at a killing pace, opening ap a lead of hall a dozen lengths an. I roaalar; the first tve furlongs in l:tKi.-,. a terrific clip considering the condition of the course. As was to have been expected. Cabaret unit in the homestretch and the tinish found David Craig the winner over Sir Blaise by a scant length. The next four were in a close bunch. David Craig ran his mile in 1 :30%, a splendid performance considering track conditions. Henrv McDaniel. who is handling the horses that Robert Davies is racing this season, saddled two of the winners in Amazement and Dr. Meet. Bach won by a short margin in a terrific stretch drive. The formers victory came with the running Of the race in which maiden jockeys had moiinis. I/ouis earths rotors were victorious in the jump-iBg race, in which he sent Humility to the post. Sevan horses came over from Dot val in the special train this afternoon. The combined stabling at hath tracks is about 1,80ft, which insures abundant room for all who may wish to take part in either meeting. Albert Simons received word from New York to prepare four stalls at Dorval for Pennant and three Other horses that Jaiuo- Bowe will send here. lViiuanl will he a starter in the 0,000 Dorval Derby, to be run one week from next Saturday, and he looks like the one they will have to lieat. Beehive was taken with fever this morning. Which accounted for his absence from the Canadian Handicap. Col. William Ilendrio was an arrival from Hamil ton and acted as one of the stewards. I. M. Civ ill purchased Thesierea from W. V. Martin and the horse ran in his rotors today. K. Musanlo arrived front Maryland with his stalde. At the conclusion of the Marlboro meeting several others are expected here. The tirst runup of the meeting came after Dr. Meet won the sixth race. He was bid up from 00 to bv J. W. Iledriek. but was retained.
