TOMORROWS GREAT RACE AT LOUISVILLE. Louisville. Ky., October 1. Saturday will see a great day of racing at Douglas Park, as in addition to the rich Louisville Clip, two miles, ,500 added, six other races will be carded. It seems likely that the field for tlie two-mile race will embrace nearly ten starters. There are thirty-one nominations for the race and with ten staters the event will be as rich a stake as has lMon or will be decided-flu the Kentucky tracks this fall. The Louisville Cup turned out to bo a great contest last season, when It was won by Clubs from seven others in the track record time of 3:20. It then netted the winner ,025 and with ten starters this season it will be oven a richer event. The following are looked upon as likely starters in the great race: Horse. Wt. Prob. Jockey. Goose .Manager Hlachmeister Is making every preparation for an enormous crowd to see the runulng of the big race and the other attractive events carded for the closing day of the meeting. The meeting of such stars as Buckhorn and Great Britain will recall to old timers the earlier Louisville Cup race at Churchill Downs run long previous to the opening of Douglas Park as a race track, when the sensational Hindoo and the mighty Checkmate met to battle for the supremacy. The Douglas Park management has taken great interest in the Louisville Cup. as it is the purpose to make it an annual fixture at this course as a feature to compare in the autumn with the rich Kentucky Handicap run at this course In the spring. O. A. Blanch! was a visitor at Douglas Park track yesterday, having come from Lexington. He has no old howes in training, but has five good looking yearlings, by Jim Gaffney at the Lexington track. Mr. Biauchi has his noted sire and his four mares located at the Melbourne Farm, near Lexington, where T. Collins also has Bourlwn Beau In the stud. Mr. Bianchis four mares are again iu foal to Jim Gaffney. Among the number is the dam of Emerson Cochran and also a half sister to tint winner of the Cincinnati Trophy. S. C. Nuckols. secretary of the Kentucky State Racing Commission has caused to be iiosted at the Douglas Park track a notice making iuquiry for Walter Lawrence and requests that any one having information of the whereabouts of this race track follower will communicate with lliin. Secretary Nuckols is endeavoring to locate the boy for his aged mother.
