ANCON WINS BOWIE FEATURE. Baltimore, Md., October 2. A well-balauced card was offered at Bowie this afternoon with a dash for three-year-olds and upward under selling conditions, occupying the feature position on the card. The winner turned up in Ancon, from the stable of A. Hamel, with Colors second and Fathom third. The latter was the medium of heavy support. Useeit was installed favorite and set the pace till the far turn was reached, where be retired and, Ancon coming with a rush, drew away at the end. Ideal weather conditions and a fast track favored tlie new plant and a big increase in the patronage was noted. A. B. Dade took up the duties of starter today and sent his fields away in a prompt and satisfactory manner. Among the numerous arrivals noticed about the paddock were Fred W. Gerhardy, who is here doing missionary work for the coming meeting at Richmond.- Va., and starter James Milton. Jockeys Peak, -Ford, Forehand, Goldstein and Guy Burns were also among the arrivals. Jockey Pendergast was suspended for three days by the stewards for rough riding in the third race. Ward was suspended for four days by starter Dade for disobedience at the post.
