BALFRON was rated behind the leaders for the first half, then moved up and took a small lead on the last turn, but tired after disposing of AGNIER. RALPH LLOYD was a forward contender all the way. MARVELOUS set a fast pace, hut tired after going live-eighths. SLUMBERER eosed a big gap and. finishing fast and gamely, would have been second in another stride. RUSILA also closed a big gap.
