JUAREZ TRACK IMPROVES GREATLY. El Paso, Tex., December 0. The weather changed somewhat today, being cold and cloudy, but the close finishes that took place at Juarez this afternoon enlivened the goodly assemblage that attended. The track is now getting close to normal condition, as the time recorded in all the races ran shows. The best race of the day was the Ahumada Handicap at five and one half furlougs, which brought together a small field. Two eastern horses that were making their first appearance at Juarez, started . in. this race, the fast sprinter Grovor Hughes, and Fllt-away. Grover Hughes raced with Othello until well around the first turn. Then Othello, being in the better racing condition of the two, drew away and won by a considerable margin. Grover Hughes made a great impression ou local race-goers, but pulled up lame. Goldtinn, a heavily-backed favorite, met with defeat in the fifth by getting bumped at tlie head of the stretch, where she was trying to crowd her way through. Mud Sill scored a lucky win over Nannie McDee. The latter was miserably riddeu by jockey Small, who had her under strong restraint in the early running. A. A. Gregg lias wired from Dallas for stalls for five horses.
