; JUAREZ RESULTS FORMFUL FINE WEATHER RETURNS, BUT TRACK REMAINS IN MUDDY CONDITION. Favorites Account For Four Races at Mexican Course in Spite of Cheap Calibre of the Contestants Big. Crowd at Track. El Paso, Tex., December 22. The disagreeable conditions of yesterday gave away to clear skies today, hut the Juarez track was still deep In mud as a result of the drenching it received Monday. Tlie card was again given over to selling platers of tlie cheaper grade, but the results were generally forni-ful. W. G. Yankes colors were victorious in the opening dash, in which Billy Joe scored as a well-backed favorite. Stolen Ante, the second choice, was the only one to offer him any serious opposition after Gertrude B., tlie early pacemaker, retired. Tlie second race resulted In a stirring linish between Sam Beckham, Oblivion and Faneull Hall. They passed the judges stand heads apart in the order named. Blackshecp was the favorite and finished a close up fourth. It was easy for C. W. Gassers Claribel to win the third, for which she ruled, an even-money favorite. She dashed to the front early and cautered along the rest of the way without being seriously menaced. Thistle Belle was nearest to her at the end and the others were badly beaten off. The fourth was attended by another easy victory for a favorite, when Hard Bali led from start to finish by a margin of several lengths. Rose Ouell was the runnerup all the way. The succession of winning favorites was continued in the fifth, in which Judge Gheens made a show of his opposition. Second money went to a long shot. Prince Conrad, against whose chances 20 to 1 was laid. The final race of the day resulted in tlie graduation of Voladay II. from the maiden class. He was one of the choices. Lady Innocence ruled favorite for the race and failed to place. A big crowd visited the track today. Tlie day was bright and warm.
