NECROLOGY OF THE TURF IN 1914. j Prominent among those connected with the turf who joined the great majority during 1914 were such notable American breeders and owners ot the thoroughbred as James B. Haggin, John G. Follans bee. Charles Reed. Gus Eastin, S. E. Larabie, William Lakeland, G. Lacy Crawford and James is. McCullough. The list also includes George Rose, one of the best-known bookmakers in the history of American racing; Tom Kiley, a famous Jockey in his day, and in Europe, Count George Lehndorff, one of the foremost authorities or the world on the subject of thoroughbred breeding.
