STABLES LEAVING NEW ORLEANS New Orleans La March IS With the approach of the opening of the eastern racing season at Bowie Md April 1 considerable activity is being displayed by horse owners who have l een stabling their horses here since the close of the Fair Grounds meeting and indications are that the naxt few days will find many of them shipping their strings to the Maryland track trackThree Three carloads left yesterday for Bowie and one or two others arc expected to follow at once Horsemen havtj been reluctant about making their exodus from here as conditions were so favorable iu New Orleans that they remained as long as thev thought safe safeAmong Among those who will leave shortly are W Hop ¬ kins FT A Hrowster W V Casey and Tom Scott ScottBefore Before the end of the week ten or twelve carloads of horses will leave here for Lexington for cam ¬ paigning on the Kentucky tracks tracksJ J Hogan will leave on Saturday night for Ken ¬ tucky with his stable On account of the crowded conditions at Lexington Superintendent James P Ross of the Lexington course has announced that no stables would be allotted incoming owners until after April 1 This ruling will keep many horsemen here just as long as they find it convenient to re ¬ main Superintendent Kelly of the Fair Grounds intends to get busy in a day or two on the whole property improving the infield ditching planting seed and laying out gardens He will also scrape ard oil the track
