RACING GOSSIP FROM THE EAST New York April 10 10stabled stabled at Gravesend and Sliccpshead Bay will bo greatly depleted within a week by denartures for Kentucky and Havre de Grace James Kltzsliiiinmis whose stable is tho largest at Gravesend will ship twentyseven to the Maryland course on Sunday These racers are the property of tho Oulncy Stable Herbert L Pratt and J E Davis Twelve of tin number are twoyearolds and FItzsilumons plans to give them their education over the southern tracks Joe McCahey and Charlie Bnrlingame sire at the course each morning galloping the Fitzsimmons charges and in addition to these experienced lioys he has McKeever whose apprenticeship will shortly expire Kowan and Brpnuan Burllngame will go o Kentucky with Ihe woslern division of tbe Quincv Stable Itowan and Brennan are apprentices and it is the intention of Flizslmmons to give them a ohance to prove tbeir worth early In the season seasonV V T Anderson has eleven stabled at Gravestmi the star of the string being Ten Point A L Astes good sprinter Several of the number are oil the ailing list and with a few of the twoyearolds will remain behind when the shipment leaves for Havre de Grace Ten Point is eligible for the Ilarfonl Handicap which will feature the opening days card at the Maryland track He is being sent along with this stake in view and is regarded as a sure starter starterE E J Albright will leave Gravesend with four Ormondale twoyearolds for Belmont Park in a few days These youngsters are not expected to face the starter before the New York season opens Beau of Menlo a son of Belle of Palo Alto and Aunt Julie a daughter of Legare ale considered the best of the quartet quartetG G W Langdon has been going along easily with Addle M and does not expect to send her to the post before the Belmont Park meeting This tillv raced exceedingly well last year and carried the silks of J W Messervy to victory ii the Alabama Stakes and Hindoo Handicap She also forced Roamer to stretch his neck to get home in front in the Municipal Handicap She wintered well and is looking fit fitMatt Matt Allen is also taking things easy with Magnet it nd does not expect to start tlds fouryearold bo fore Belmont Park Jack McGinnis has Sam Jack sou the Saratoga Cup winner of I back in train ¬ ing but he will not face the siarler until late in tbe season seasonTho Tho recent heavy snow storm did not set the horsemen at Gravesend back much Their charges remained under cover on Saturday but were gallop ¬ ing in the open the following day Koamer splashed his way through the slop on Tuesday going five fur ¬ longs in 110 lie shows improvement every da and seems to thrive on work workJ J J Mnlreiim bas four thoroughbreds at Graves end He is partial to Sassin a liay iwoycarold by The Picket Queen This youngster was purchased at a low figure as a yearling last fall and has shown exceedingly well in his trials Another member of the strng is Side Show a threeyearold son of Celt and Nlnone Accordingly he is a half brother to Klngling which raced well for the Beverwyck Stable StableAugust August Belmont has not fully decided to ship his thoroughbreds to Havre de Grace and they may not go south until the Piuilico meeting High Horse a brown son of Hastings and Ilautesse II appears the most forward of the youngsters and one that should race well at he early meetings meetingsLouie Louie Marline is another owner who will not send his racers to the barrier before the New York meet ¬ ings He has several good pi fill pifill if any of these will equ a speedy plater which bore the Marti mi silk several years back This inure was a daughter of Ogden and Ivory Bolls and was bred bv J E Madden When h r dam foaled Old Rosebud hat youngster WSIM offered to Mr Marline at a low figure He turned down the prospect and Old Kosebud devel ¬ oped into one of the best racers of recent years Ivaliel was sent to the stud last vear
