TWO OF KING GEORGES HORSES BEATEN Jungle Cock which represented his Majesty iu the Biennial Stakes at Newmarket yesterday is a big horse and still somewhat backward although lie won Ills trial in smart fashion It was found i impossible to train the colt as a twoyearold but lie ran in promising style yesterday travelling fast for six furlongs only to lie ultimately Iieaten by Mr Nelkes Sydian which recently finished in front of Courtlands and Clever Dick in a trial spin Jungle Cock by Sundridge from Guinea Hen is well engaged including the Derby though so long as Friar Marcus keeps well it need scarcely be necessary to look beyond him for the Epsom race The field for yesterdays race included Archelaus the son of Roi Ilerode which had a name for smartness last year but only won at his last outing as a juvenile ire now ran unplaced All the runners except the winner are In the Two Thousand Guineas Ills Majesty was also repre ¬ sented in the Ashley Plate Santley carrying the Royal colors The son of Santry made a first ap ¬ pearance but had only given a poor display in a trial and was not fancied On the other hand the Hestla colt had scored in a trial spin and won In easy fashion He Is trained by J Green who succeeded the late Hon F Lambton at Park Lodge London Sportsman of April 14
