NEW YORK BETTING CASE POSTPONED New York May 4 The cases of the men arrested at the Hewlett Hay Park amateur race meeting last Saturday on charge of violating the gambling laws of 7cw York came Iiefore Justice of the Peace Lewis Itulslg at Far Ilockawny today but resulted in no decision concerning tho legality of the stake holder system of betting which is involved Ed ward Salmorp and Kenneth Gargan were the men arraigned Their attorneys asked for a dismissal f the charges on the grounds that the law had not buen violated and that there is no evidence tending ti show that it bad been When Justice Kaisig denied this motion lioth waived examination and were held in 00 bail each for the grand jury juryIt It irt now unlikely there will be any ruling as to the legality of the stakeholder method of wagering until after the local season has been hi swing for some weeks
