SAME OFFICIALS AT CANADIAN TRACKS TRACKSAt At a recent meeting of the Canadian Racing Associations held at Toronto It was decided to appoint one presiding steward ono starter one clerk of the scales and a man to look after the jockey room throughont the racing season under the jurisdiction of the governing body of the turf In Canada Following tho decision the appointments were made madeJoseph Joseph A iMurphy who has officiated as judge and steward at the various meet Ings throughout Canada for many seasons has Ivecn chosen as the presiding steward for all of the meetings Mr Murphy was successful in his effort to revive racing last winter in New Orleans and a more suitable man for the position could hardly have been named namedA A Barret Dade who has done the starting at the majority of the Canadian tracks for tlw past eight years has been appointed official starter for the Canadian Racing Associations Dade is looked on as the best of the starters now officiating Joseph officiatingJoseph McLennan who acted as clerk of tho scales at many of the meetings for the past few seasons has been appointed to officiate at all of the tracks this summer Along with his work as clerk of the scales he will look after the business of the Canadian Racing Associations at each of tin tracks tracksJ J Spracklln has been appointed to look after the jockey rooms at the various tracks Spracklln re ¬ placed George Fraylang at some of the tracks a year ag Tlie other officials at the various meet Ings will be appointed by the clubs
