AUSTRALIAS GRAND NATIONAL. The Victoria Racing clubs Grand National Steeplechase at three miles and an eighth, was run at lh minatoii -Inlv 10, and was won bv Flash .lack at 14 lo f. with Tim Dootuu second and Booligal third. Flash Jack is an eight year-old gelding, hv June* Princess, owned by Missis. Cnrrie ami Miller. His sire is hv Bohndil. and In- is therefore a tail mule descendnnl of St. Simon. l"p to the end of July last voir flash .lacks only victory of the year was in a minor bardie race, and in the previous year all his nine attempts wen- unproilucl in-. On the flat in I.HJ he was a useful racer. Tim Hoolau. the runner-up, is a New Zealand.-!- belonging to G. 1.. Stead, which had won steeplechases, and Booligal. which finished third, is hv Carhtnier son of Car-biuei. The Victoria Bacing club Grand National last year was worth over 13.000. In the early nineties it was won two yean running by Dalmht, a bane with enormous feet, which subsequently was taken to England ami attempted without inc cc-s lo win the Liverpool Grand National.
