Among the weanlings now on the place is a handsome bay colt by Garry Herrmann— Miss C. the dam of Azyiade. which Mr. Murphy thinks highly of. Ho has recently purchased the bay weanling colt by Garry Herrmann — Silver Dear, and the bay colt by Garry Herrmann — Little Nell, as well as a chestnut colt out of an Baker mare, for George I. Widener. the Philadelphia turfman. One of the best weanlings on the place is the brother to Alford Nob.e. which is owned by Fields Bros, of Missouri. At the close of the Latonia meeting 3. 1inen-settor will ship Lady P-incbita and Whim to Wal-deek Farm and they will both be maled to Golden Maxim next spring, this being the last year that either c.f these mares will race. Mr. Murphy intends in lime to make Wabb-ck Farm one of the great breeding estates of all Kentucky. He is in the market now to secure young mares and intends to ultimately have in his possession a band of a half hundred good broodmares. For a year or two yet he may continue to sell bis yearlings, hut in time it is his purpose to embark on the turf, with a big racing stable of horses of his own breeding. The only horse that he has lately raced is I.illows. which is n w at Wahleek Kami and will not be trained again uutil next year. tiiough she looks exceedingly good this fall. Waldeck Farm was once the place that housed the breeding and racing establishment of Carl Jungbluth and it was there that the tine race horse The Picket was developed. Being a man of wealth and much enterprise, this place, uiid-r the ownership of Mr. Murphy, is certain to cut a big figure in the thoroughbred racing and breeding world. If she rests up after her long trip from Louisville to Sweetwater. Texas, in a satisfactory manner. A. Newman will race the great live-ycar-o!d mare Pan Zareta at Juarez again next winter with the big string of other horses he will ship to that track early in the coining month from the Newman breeding ranch bj Texas. l»an Zarela has been returned home with the record of having won more races on the big tracks in this country. In fact, in i.ne respect, no mare ever bred in America has equalled her record, inasmuch as in four years which constitutes her present reenrd. in M year she has failed to win as many as thirteen or more races. A. L. Austin now has eleven horses at the La-t ilia track. Three of these. Schemer. The Spirit and Cliff Stream, are owned by N. Macfarlaue. a wealthy turfman of Montreal.
