Carmans Startling, coupled with Brooisrale in the betting, accounted for the Ulue Point Selling Stakes, the feature race of fxlays program. Startling was ridden by T. McTaggart. made- all the pace and beat the favorite. Fe.nrock, by a half length. F-.-rnrock was oil the inside in close quarters at the end and. with a stronger rider than Collins in the saddle, might have beaten Startling. The race was marred by a bit of rough riding as a result of which s..couy met. with repeated interference in the early running and Prohibiti.-n fell. J::ckey McDermott. who bad the mount on Prohibition, escaped with a few scratches. T. J. Shannon, trainer for Edward McBride. will leave for Lexington Saturday to look over tka jeailletB at the Idle Hour Farm on which Mr. McKride obtained au option some time ago. In the event of McBride taking over the yearlings. tb.ey will lie sent to Louis Tauber. who will break them before shipping them to Baltimore to ea wintered. C. F. Flynn. assistant manager of the Cuba-American Jockey Club, and C Vautrain. also connected with the Cuban association, are recent arrivals from Havana. Mr. Flynn finished considerable of the improvements on the Havana cours - before leaving Cuba. Some 1.500 palms, ti-inanas and other tropical trees were set out and a number of dower beds were constructed.
