Applegate of New York purchased a big black yearling colt Tuesday from Mrs. Benjamin Mott C- le, her daughter. Miss Grace Cole, and John E. Madden. The colt is by Plaudit I.lue Jacket, by Whistle Jacket, and was descrilied by Mr. Madden as the "best looking yearling iu Kentucky." The sale was made Tuesday by Mr. Madden iu New York and the price, while not announced, is rejiorted to be tlte highest paid for a Kentucky thoroughbred yearling in a long time. The colt was bred at Graccland Stock Farm on the Russel Cave pike by Mrs. and Miss Cole ami halter broken by Miss Col".
