Karriek. who has the horses of S. L. Parsons and the Om ek Stable iu his care, has ten yearlings at Belmont Park which are going into active training this week. Trainer Jerry Carroll had Mr. Coes big imiwted bay yearling by Royal Realm out for easy work one morning last week and the youngsters attracted much favorable comment from the trainers and owners who saw him. Capt. J. H. Rees of Memphis, formerly one of the best known of western racing officials, is making a brief visit to New York city. He will serve as a steward at the Fair Grounds meeting at New Orleans this winter, upon the earnest solicitation of General Manager Joseph A. Murphy. It is luany years since Judge Rees has served as a racing official, hut he has always maintained his interest in the sport. Trainer P. Dwyer. who has charge of those of R. T. Wilsons horses not in active training, is working energetically at Belmont Park on the Brooklyn Handicap winner. Tartar, which still is suffering from injuries received in a fall at Havre de Grac*. Trainer Dwyer is confident that he will be back to the races in winning form iu MM Anialti is also in trainer Dwyers charge and has been turned out for the winter. Capt. Ii. H. Emmons, owner of the fast and staying race horse Rudolfo. was in Chicago yesterday at the Congress hotel in a stop over while on his way to Louisville.
