Tlie act previously provided for the use of the totalizator on 250 days at race meetings in New Zealand. Edward Corrigan has purchased from Joseph E. Seagram of Toronto. Out., the 12-year-old mare Class by Kingston — Blue Crass Belle, and has brought her to the United States with the idea of mating her to the liest stallion available. Mr. Corrigan owned Class when she raced. She has had one foal, by Havoc, since he sold her for export to Canada a nitmlier of years ag.i. The recent meetiug of tlie Waiiganui Jockey Club marked the inauguration of a new system in regard to totalizator tickets. The system, which has lieen patented, is designed to prevent forgery. II is based on a combination of varieties of tickets for every horse, which makes it impossible for any one but the responsible head of the totalizator department to know what designs are to In* used. As a result of the system of cabinets used, less than half the space originally required in the totalizator house is necessary. — Sydney Referee.
