] I J ; ; * *. "I THIS YEARS RECORD OF A STABLE WHICH FORMERLY RULED * THE CANADIAN TURF + ——. — + In olden days Mr. J. E. Seagram was a formidable figure iu Canadian racing. To him fell so many j times the Queens Plate and. after King Edwards accession to Englands throne, the; Kings Plate, that the event most de:ir to the Canadian turfmans desire practically was a Seagram monopoly. But since Seismic last won it for him in 190S. for reasons hard to define with precision, evil days came for the stable and of late years it has been sadly overshadowed in Canadian racing. However, Mr. Seagram has a big band of broodmares and. with such sires as Havoc, Ypsilanti II. and Galatine now in his stud, should presently be able to send to the races some young horses of his own breeding competent to improve the now diminished renute of his stable. !n this years racing his total returns of ,002 was a slight Improvement over his ,790 of 1914 and his 1915.sh,790 of 1913.
