LIVELY GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS LAND. Lexington. Ky., December 8. — Edward Corrigan, veteran turfman, is being discussed as a probable successor to Walter Pearce as racing secretary for the Kentucky tracks. It was stated b.v one of the officials of the Kentucky Association track today that Corrigan has made application to the Kentucky-State Racing Commission for the place and that he is being seriously considered. Rumor has it that Pearee has asked to be given a place in the judges or stewards stand. John Good this morning shipped seven of his horses, including Jessie Ixutise. Dr. Kendall aud F. A. Weigle, to New Orleans. Nobleman, for Will Perkins, and Eastnet, for James MacManus, were sent in the same car. G. W. J. Bissell hurried here today from Havana to make arrangements about mating his broodmares and says everything is ship-shape and prospects for racing are great in Cuba. Starter Harry Morrissey today received from the Lower Califoiiia Jockey Club management a telegram to the effect that express charges will be advanced on all thoroughbreds shippeil to Tia Juana. J. N. Camden today sold to Crosthwalte and John-sou a yearling bay colt by Ben Brush — Lass of Wheatly, by Hanover. James Fitzsiiumous returned to New York today without having made a purchase, although he is said to have obtained options on two or three youngsters. John Miller left for New York to bring the stallion Granite to John S. Barbees Glen Helen Farm. Miss Chaucer, by Chaucer — Jovial Jane, died at Glen Helen Farm this week. Phil T. Chinn returned to Lexington yesterday and has seeured an option on John S. Barbees yearling colt by Peep oDay— Carlotta C. by Hayden Edwards. __________
