POOR YEAR FOR A STABLE USUALLY AMONG THE LEADING WINNERS 4. 4. It was something in the way of a lean year in racing for R. F. Carman in 1915, as compared with several preceding years. In 1914 his horses won a total of 0,518, while in 3913 they returned $."4,040. lb nee his 7,10.". of this year was a decided falling off in stable receipls. His Ik-si winners were the two-year-olds, Achievement and Startling, and both may improve into good three-year-olds. Surprising expended all of his speed when a two-year-old and was of but little account, but the two old-timers, G. M. Miller and Ella Bryson, did about all that was to be expected from horses of their age aud were useful breadwinners. The stable record was: Horse. Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. 1st. 2d. 3d. Won.
