December 31. — With the arrival in this country, early in January, of a half dozen French-bred yearlings, the string of the Kentucky Stabler for the racing season of 1910 will be complete. It is unique in American racing annals that of the nineteen horses carrying the colors, all except U.i will be of foreign breeding. Phil T. Chinn will be manager of the stable. He tormeel the syndicate which owns it, and selected all the hsraea. There will be only two coming three-year-olds in the stable, Roukiss and Beckna. which did not raee in their two-year-old form. Both are English-bred, the former by Dark Ronald — Suukiss and Beckna hy Troutbeck — St. Natalia. Eight English-bred yearlings are included, six colts by Santry, St. Frusquin. Senseless, Bachelors Button and Bedlam, and two fillies by Joe Cliam- berlain and Lemberg. respectively. The breeding of the six French-bred yearlings is not known here, but they will be registered immediately on arrival. To these latter may he added the Phoenix colt. Couc-t-ship, bought by Mr. Chinn at the Mackay sale in New York last week for ,200. The two native-bred yearliugs in the stable are a filly bv Peep oDay — Cfcrlotta ., the dam being the mother of Star Gift and Short Ballot, and a filly bv Ben Brush — Sister Juliet. With the exception of the French horses due next week, all are stabled at the Lexington. Ky.. race track. They will be taken to the Louisville track in February to receive their training for the racing season, when it is Mr. Chinas intention to pit his foreign-bred youngsters against the best of the American-breds. The English horses were all broken at Charleston, S. C and in their quarter trials showed Mr. Chinn enough to make him believe he has several of stake class among them. The Kentucky Stable is not a new name in American racing annals. Both Col. Jack Chinn and his father raced under that name, so that this will be the third generation of a successful thoroughbred-racing family to use this nom de course.
