WILHITE RUNS AN EXCELLENT RACE. El Paso. Tex.. January 11.— Todays races at Juarez were inn with all extremely high wind blowing. Iu the five and a half furlongs handicap that : served as the days feature. Wilhite was asked to carry 12S pounds and might have done it successfully but for heiug cut of when Hunt tried to get i through with him along the rail in the stret.-h. In spite of pulling up and going to the outside, Wil- i bite was beaten less than a length by I.oftus, which i had been leading all the way. W. G. Yanke is slowly recovering from a severe I attack of typhoid fever. During his illness he has 1 been attended by his wife, who came from San i i i I 1 Francisco to be at his bedside. Mr. Yanke has passed the crisis and will soon be able to be out. Butter Hall, the good horse that Pat Dunne campaigned at the first Juarez meetiug and which since that time lias l een raced by the El Iaso turfmen. Quiiilan and Heigel, has ruu his last race General Manager Matt Winn has purchased the horse for 0o and presented him to General Tie vino, commander of the Carrauza forces in northern Mexico. He was fowarded last week to Chihuahua to the Mexican general, who will use him as a saddle horse. C. W. Gas*t.r has sold Halgee to T. Hatfield for 1916.sh00 an, I it is his intention to weed out several uioie of his string. B. A. Trammel has sold to D. W. Christian In-quieta. Whispering Hope. Aunt Nau-Noo and Satis-fled. The last two are two-year-olds.
