REGISTRY GIVEN WHITNEY YEARLINGS. Youngsters Could Not Be Registered in England Because "Tainted" by Lexington. New York. February 11. — Application was made to the Jockey Club by Harry Iayne Whitney to register under Rule- 41 seven yearlings foaled in England and Imported to this country which could not be registered in the English Stud Book owing to their blood relationship to Lexington. The application was granted and the following foals will be recorded la the American Stud Book: Bay or brown colt by Willonyx — Blue Girl. Bay or brown tilly by Tracery — -Perverse. Bay colt by Bayardo — Petticoat. Bay colt by Spearmint — Mincola. Bay eolt by Lemberg — Leisure. chestnut colt by St. Frusquiu or St. Amaut— Miss Hamburg. Chestnut tilly by St. Vietrix — Crinoline. It is reported that Senator J. X. Camden and Hal Price Headley are going to Euroiie to buy broodmares. John K. Madden lias said a two-year-old filly by Hessian — Jacqueminot to W. Shields, who is buy ing for Paul Powers. John Sanford has placed Isirose. Winning Witch and Eleusinia in the stuel and has also decided to mate Aeldie M.. a young mare he bought from Dr. J. W. Meaaervy, with his imported horse. The Curragh. At the present time Mr. Sanford has twenty-eight horses la training, fifteen two year olds and thirteen older horses. Several of the string are lieing prepared by Holly Hughes at Charleston for an early campaign in Kentucky. The remainder are at his farm in Amsterdam and will be need in the east. W. P. Batch has three youngsters at Beuning. one of which, an Ultimas colt belonging to Samuel Ross, is decidedly premising.
