HOT SPRINGS PROSPECTS LARGE FORCE OF MEN ENGAGED IN PUTTING 0AKXAWN TRACK IN ORDER. Applications for Hotel Accommodations Flowing In Rapidly — Meeting to Be Conducted on New Orleans Lines. Hot Springs, Ark.. February 13. — The sssmshg •? the twenty-one days race meeting at Oaklawn on March 11 under the auspices of the Business Men-League will lie made a gala occasion. A half holiday will he declared. All local interests hac blended their influence to make the resumption • « racing in Hot Springs one of the most notable events in the history of this famous health anl pleasure resort. A large force of men has been put to work repairing the stables, where accommodations can be had for over 1.000 horses. Other workmen have boon put to work on the track. But little repairing is needed by the big grandstand, which has a seating capacity for 0.000 persons, is enclosed in glass, can be steam heated and is one of the best equipped structures of its kind in the south. The league plans to conduct the races in much the same manner as New Orleans racing is conducted. The announcement that a meeting will bo held bare next month, has brought from that city and other places a flood of telegrams to the big hotels requesting reservations of rooms. The race meeting will exlend the present arbiter season at least a in .nth. if not longer. But lar more important than that is the fact that with racing resumed at Hot Springs, it will place the resort again on the racing map. the consummation of which is the devout wish of the business men. who have been advocating more liberal entertainment for tbis citys rapidly increasing visiting patronage.
