Duryea waa beid in France is had in the following testimonial which was published in a recent issue of La Chronique du Turf: ••We learn with deep regret of the death of Mr. II. I.. Duryea. Knowing that his strong constitution bad been lighting for several months against this Illness, nevertheless we were hoping to tee him again with us. making known, as is the custom of bis race, that extreme joy which he felt on seeing one of hi- br linu pass the winning post. •in reviewing the ne rimes of the green and white jacket it is sufficient b say that the memory of this excellent ■pmlnaaaa will remain forever attached to the name of Durbar II.. which was, since Gladlateur, the only winner of the Epsom Derby bred and raised on our soil. One of the last things which Mr. Duryea did was to give Blarney, one of his stallions, to the country which he loved. The French are not among those who forget."
