RENO RACING TO OPEN IN MAY. San Francisco. CaL. March 7. — Reno is to have a race inee.ing the latter part ol May. George W. Wingneld, the prominent Nevada sportsman, announced Thursday that tie promoters of the Beam track have decided to stage thirteen days of ra iirjr. commencing on Saturday, May 27. there will also be anoher two weeks meeting later 011 in the tall. So much success attended the initial meeting at Reno last July under the Nevada State Racing Commission and the parl-mutael form of wagering that the people have been anxious for a return of lie ■port. Tin attendance was remarkable, considering tin* size of the city, and the state derived some revenue to use for the construction of county roads. If tin- Tijuana meeting in Lower California opens the first ot April, as re| orts from £aa Diego state, it will bring about a clillict of dates. Tijuana will run for 100 days, and this will bring the end of the meeting olo.-o to July. Tne Reno promoters, however, are confident of altracting plenty of horses. There are a number of California turfmen who will race their siring- there. George Wing field will have a Ie.v y ung horses to go to the post, ami Edward Cebrian, .-. Cnristenson, John Itosseter and others will probably have their colois represented.
