WARMING UP AT LEXINGTON HIGH-CLASS CANDIDATES FOR FUTUKE RACES BEING SENT ALONG BRISKLY. Kentucky Clubs to Be Given the Privilege of Naming Their Own Officials — Kinney Works a Good Mile for So Early in the Year. Lexington. Ky.. April 5. — The direr-tors of the Kentucky Association, understanding it to be the intention of the Kentucky State Racing Commission to re-invest the racing organizations with the right to appoint racing iiTicials for their meetings, subject to the approval of the commission, will meet tomorrow to determine the selections, also lo decide the amount of money to he given in purses and outline the program for the twelve days of racing to begin here April 27. It is expected Captain Tom Clay will be named for presiding judge here and Messrs. i. I. Wilson. .lohn T. Ireland and John H. Wallace will be his assistants in the stand. It has already been d--cided that judge William H. Slielley will be racing secretary and handicapper as usual. Shelley arrived this morning from Louisville and will remain until the dose of the racing. Probabilities are that the purses will be increased somewhat over the offering of last year. Secretary Sam C. Nuckols of 1 ho Kentucky State Racing Commission was at the course this morning distributing license blanks, uiwm which trainers and jockeys will make applications for license. lie instructed them to have their applications in not later than April lit, ttie day upon which the commission will meet. A mill- in 1:48% by T. Hayes Derby candidate Kinney, was most talked about by railbirds this morning. Hank ODajT from .loe Hawkins stable. worked three -quarters in 1:20. A number of good judges have picked this four-year-old to win the Camden Handicap. Chalmers, one of Hanks stable mates, returned five-eighths in 1:012%. Westy Hogan ran a half in 51 for John Whitlow and T. C. McDowells America, one of those most favored for the breeders Futurity, worked a quarter in 231.-,. The body of Colonel Robert T. Holloway arrived here this afternoon at I oclock from Washington ..nd will interred in the Lexington Cemetery tomorrow afternoon. Harry H. Stanhope, age 51 and breeder of Khodu B.. dam of Orbv, winner of the English Derby, died nt his home near Lexington this morning.
