HOT SPRINGS OWNERS AND HORSES DEPART. Hot Springs. Ark., April 5. — There was an exodus of horsemen today from here destined for various places, those for Kentucky being in the majority. The eastern aggregation of turf followers departed last night and should arrive in Maryland and New York tomorrow. There were five carloads of horses on the trains that left here this afternoon. The shipments included the horses of F. W. Foster, R. E. Watkins, W. P.. Mitchell. M. Russell, H. Neusteter and A. C. Niehaus. all of which will go to Rowie. The strings of J. Hogan, G. Arvin. J. Griffin, E. J. OConnell, W. J. Speirs, J. A. Gibson and II. E. Steward left, for -Louisville, while the Lexington shipment consisted of the stables of J. T. I.ooney, R. L. Baker, W. F. King, J. C. Calm, E. W. Moore and John Lowe. The latter took sixteen horses to the Kentucky Association course. Many of the owners who raced here have decided to remain at Oaklawn until April 15, as the facilities for training at the track and the weather now prevailing, are unexcelled. Jockey D. Stirling, who was injured by a fall from Bonanza, is not showing the improvement expected and the doctors are manifesting some concern over his condition. They are hopeful, however, that he will pull through. His principal injury is concussion of the brain. Jockey W. Gourley is showing some improvement and will be transferred to Detroit as soon as he can stand the trip.
