AMERICAN HORSES IN FAR DISTANT LANDS. ! At the Calcutta India winter meeting. Dolly Dimple, five years old. by Hawkswick — Dimple. | by Mirthful, won the Canal Plate. 30: the Tally Ho Plate, Si. 000. by three lengths, and the Serpentine Plate. ftMftl Dolly Dimple, which raced as Dimpwick in England, also won two races at Calcutta in 1914. Another winner in India was Maxima, five years old. by Golden Maxim -Doughnuts, by Darebin. In February i;lst N]„. WI1 ,,,. Elgin Plate, 30. one mile, carrying 121 pounds, by one and three-quarters lengths, and four days later carried off the mile and one-half First Class Plate, 30, witli 131 pounds. As a four-year-old she won four races at Calcutta. These two mares, bred by Mr. Henry T. Oxnard, at the Bin. Ridge Stud. Virginia, have, therefore, up to the close of the last racing season, won eleven races in India. Another useful performer from the same stud, and now racing in Italy, hi Not Guilty, by Ormon-dale -Verdict. S.ni to Italy ill 1913. that year lie won five races, valued at .70O. In 1914 he won four race* worth ,720. In 1915 he won four flat raecs and five over .jumps, his -earnings amounting to ,490. In March. 1916. Not Guilty won two more races. So far. therefore, he has won twenty races in Italy.
